LIBERATION LITANY OF THE PEOPLE

Leader:
BROTHERS and SISTERS Let there be peace and unity among us!

People:
Yes. Let us not be an Instrument of our own oppression.

Leader:
Let us stop fighting among ourselves.

People:
And unite on what we have in common.

Leader:
To build is work.

People:
We will work to break the yoke of oppression over our people.

Leader:
We work for the liberation of the minds of our people.

People:
We will continue this struggle.

Leader:
In everything we do we will work in the interest of the people.

People:
In this way, the African Revolution will be seen alive and at work in the lives of our people.

Leader:
To be free is to be Independent.

People:
To be independent is to be free.

Leader:
We must begin to control the Institutions that effect our lives.

People:
We must seize the time.

Leader:
Be as proud of your race today as our fathers were in the day before us.

People:
We have a beautiful history.

Leader:
And we shall create another in the future that will astonish the world.

People:
RIGHT ON!

Leader:
Let us commemorate the African Warriors and Queens of our past and present ...
Let us remember those who are sick, those who are fighting to make our people free, and those who have been released from the oppression of this life. (Silence will be kept for a time)

Leader:
Go on, climb ye the heights of liberty and cease not in well-doing until you have planted the banner of independence where ever African People are.

People:
WE ARE AN AFRICAN PEOPLE!

WE ARE AN AFRICAN PEOPLE!

WE ARE AN AFRICAN PEOPLE!
